I wish I could also have FREE...

You are unemployed because you are unemployable...

OK. I know, it's been quite a while since I've spewed out my moaning groaning gibberish...
...but here we go again...

For the past 18 months or so, I have been actively involved in an SME sized business in the fast food industry.

Like a good loyal citizen of the RS of A, I directly employ between 12 and 14 staff at any given time.

All these staff apparently wrote and passed a matric exam at some time...although I do not quite understand how that is possible with their general mentality.

I was under the impression that having obtained a matric, one would at least be able to write, read and speak English at its most basic level.

These staff are a mixture of both black and white staff within various roles.

I contribute to the economy by creating jobs where there where none before.
I pay all the various taxes, uif, sdl, bargaining councils, rent, water, lights, telephones...the list gets quite exhausting so lets stop there.

My issue is not the long and tiresome hours in an 11 to 12 hour day in this industry.
My issue is not the odd customers who are NEVER happy but insist on goading me and looking for a freebie whenever they can.

My issue is not the load shedding that cripples my business for hours at a time (yes we have a generator too), or my suppliers that then get crippled as well.

My issue is not the labour department or any other government department with their constant and ridiculous requirements.

My issue is not with the current government who do nothing to encourage me to emply more staff, but make it hell to employ my current ones.

My issue is not with telkom who when they go on strike cripples my business for two days at a time.

My issue is not with the municipal water supply who sometimes stop supplying running water for up to 3 days at a time.

No sirree, my issue is with 50-75% of the unemployed individuals who came begging for a chance at being gainfully employed. And then they only manage to commit to the task at hand for a month or two before yet again turning into unemployable individuals.

I have never experienced such complete and utter unemployable folks as that which the marketplace is currently saturated with. I have experienced first hand what thieves in my employ do when they are caught, and the ridiculous denials that follow. This even when they are caught on CCTV, as well as them then having the audacity to attempt to resume work two days later when they make bail from the local SAPS.

I also find it strange that only my black staff employed by me have ever stolen from me, 4 have been arrested so far. The white staff employed have never stolen from me, and thus naturally 0 have been arrested so far.

I have never experienced the absolute contempt and bad attitude that I currently do when asking a staff member to merely do what they have been employed to do, namely do the work assigned within the given times of their contract of employment.

I have never experienced the absolute disrespect and contempt of staff refusing to arrive at work on time (if they even pitch for work) as per their contract of employment. Then challenging me when they are questioned regarding their late coming or complete absence.

In one instance a staff member arrived late for work for a total of 63 days, in a 90 day temporary contract (between 8 minutes and 1.5 hours late).

In another instance another staff member sees nothing wrong with arriving at work between 1.5 hours up to and including in excess of 4 hours late. Upon dismissing such staff you are then dragged off to the CCMA...what an absolute waste of time, and the dismal failure to logically converse with the utter retarded beings who run the show there.

My issue at present is now deciding whether to continue fighting for the odd 25% of folks who are employable...or do you I eventually just throw in the towel and close a company...

I wish my boss would also let me take a day or two off whenever I felt like it....you know you dont need a sick note here! and the old one day flu is about the most prevalent sickness in the country.

I wish my boss would also let me walk into work at whatever time or on whatever day I felt like eventually rocking up at work....

I wish my boss would also allow me steal and then allow me the priviledge of going back to work....

I wish my boss would also be civil and pleasant to me even though I am pretty much untrainable and thus unemployable....

I wish my boss would always listen to my long, sad, sob stories for whenever I am incapable of performing my role....

I wish my boss would always provide my basic rights and guaranteed salary even though he sometimes goes without these...

I wish I could also have FREE housing, FREE medical, FREE elctricity, FREE water, FREE education, FREE grants, because then I too could also afford to be unemployed !!!
