Is God upset with Africa?

According to the World Health Organization Ebola is believed to have killed over 1000 people in Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone. The contagious disease, which has no known cure, has symptoms that include vomiting, diarrhoea and internal and external bleeding. The fatality rate of the current outbreak is around 60 per cent although Ebola can kill up to 90 per cent of those who catch it.

This disease is no respecter of persons it kills all - even Christian missionary (Samaritans Purse) doctors and nurses from America are succumbing to the evil virus.

So who created and unleashed this plague upon innocent people? Christians tell us that Jesus Christ is the creator of life and everything else in the Universe. So they believe that God created the Ebola Virus.

Throughout the Bible, God himself is blamed for sending death as punishment for sinning against God.  Jesus himself links sickness and disease to God for his own glory (John 9:3) as does Apostle Paul:

“For those who eat and drink without discerning the body of Christ eat and drink judgment on themselves.  That is why many among you are weak and sick, and a number of you have fallen asleep.  But if we were more discerning with regard to ourselves, we would not come under such judgment.  Nevertheless, when we are judged in this way by the Lord, we are being disciplined so that we will not be finally condemned with the world.” 1 Corinthians 11: 29 – 32

“Wrath has come out from the Lord; the plague has started.” Numbers 16: 46

“Plague went before him (God); pestilence followed his steps.”  Habakkuk 3:5

In Revelation God uses an angel to kill a third of the earth’s population with plagues:

“A third of mankind was killed by the three plagues of fire, smoke and sulphur that came out of their mouths.” Revelation 9: 18

Finally in Revelation 19: 15, Jesus’ true nature comes out as he is personified as the murderous and wrathful Hebrew God’s son:

“Coming out of his mouth is a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations. "He will rule them with an iron sceptre." He treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God Almighty.”  Revelation 19: 15

After the earthquake in Orkney many Christians jumped for joy because they thought that the end is near and Jesus is on his way to come and save them.

God must be Bipolar because in the Old Testament, he's a vengeful, wrathful and vindictive deity who will flood the whole world, kill people for so much as accidentally touching his ark and command his people to kill their enemies and "Show them no pity" while they "Put them to the sword".

Then, here and there in the New Testament "God is love", "He who does not love his brother cannot love God, because God is love." (1 John 4:8, 1 John 4:10) and is an entity who "Keeps no records of wrongs" (1 Corinthians 13:5).

But again, in the last book of the New Testament, the tone changes yet again: "they, too, will drink the wine of God's fury, which has been poured full strength into the cup of his wrath." (Rev 14:10).

God is angry and is judging the world by causing suffering and displacement, but in his mercy and compassion, according to born again Christians he is miraculously curing people. Oh really!

The idea that such an unstable being is ruling the Universe, is terrifying, while the notion that such a being is worthy of worship is absurd, as if such lunacy should be revered.

Luckily for all of us, God is just a projection of human attributes that was created by humans in a state of near utter barbarism. That people still worship a tribal deity from 2000+ years ago, and such an unpleasant one at that, shows the validity of the claim that "there's a sucker born every minute" and ‘a fool and his money (tithe) is easily parted”.
