Keita and the Christians

Keita recently wrote an article entitled “Satanism and Happiness” wherein he explained that he is a pagan, not a Satanist, and that contrary to Christian belief, it is possible to be perfectly happy without the God of Abraham in one’s life.

It was a fairly long article, as Keita took us through his paganism, his core beliefs, his career (and the events that led him to that career) and finally, out of this fairly long read, one paragraph on his homosexuality. One paragraph.

And one paragraph was all it took for the fundamentalist Christians to let loose their vitriol and bile. It seems to me that there is no filter on the Christian mouth when it comes to this particular issue – they seem to be so very incensed by things others get up to in the privacy of their bedrooms (or wherever) that they immediately begin to froth at the mouth, and cannot wait to spew their venomous attitudes all over the comments section.

I find this fascination with the love lives of homosexuals absolutely incomprehensible. It also, quite frankly, makes me wonder if there are a whole bunch of Christians who are either closet gays, or if they are just seriously sexually repressed people. Personally, I do not give another person’s love life a second thought – hell, I don’t even give it a FIRST thought! Why then this fascination with the love life of homosexuals?

For the record, JustanotherNumpty was the only known Christian who did NOT hone in on just one paragraph – he just cried foul because the naughty atheists did not rip Keita apart from his belief in a deity, and no amount of pointing out that Keita had been most specific about the fact that he was UNSURE about a deity seemed to make the slightest bit of difference.

Danie Theron went straight for the jugular – and whittered on about lust and unnatural sex.  Aunt Agatha came bustling in with a totally predictable comment about paedophiles. (What kind of sick mind automatically links homosexuality with paedophilia?) SAD weighed in with the proverbial “love the sinner, hate the sin” bit, then proceeded to inform another poster that he, SAD, suspects that particular poster is gay. But not to worry, SAD still loves him…..  Owen went off on a tangent about how Keita is not to be trusted cause he uses a pseudonym (of course, Owen could well be using a pseudonym too, we really do not know) and how this pseudonym, and the avatar, clearly indicate that Keita is a Satanist. Dalu clearly felt the need to shout his message – ALL IN CAPS – that Keita is going to be punished by God…

But the Christian of the Day was, without a doubt, Mwerte Sphagetti… I do believe he used to go under the name of Martin Shane? I am not going to copy and paste his little Christ-like gems. They are beyond the pale, and show a very sick and clearly disease-ridden mind. I can only feel pity for this particular person – it must be exhausting and soul destroying to live with the filth that inhabits his particular head. I understand perfectly why this particular individual needs a crutch to help him through his day – it is just such a pity for the Christians that this person chose Christianity as his crutch. He does you no favours, Christians.

Which brings me to the point of this little epistle. Numpty, you said that the atheists attack any Christian comment. You felt it was unfair. I am no longer a Christian, Numpty, not because of anything a Christian has said or done, but more because I simply suddenly understood that the God of Abraham cannot possibly be as the Bible says…. But even as a NON-CHRISTIAN, my soul cringes when I read comments like the ones that were attached to Keita’s article. I find myself incredibly saddened by the lack of Christian love that we see on this forum. I find myself wondering how the commenting Christians can possibly think that comments like the ones made to Keita’s article are alright, acceptable, a true reflection of the teachings of Jesus. I find myself wondering – What would Jesus think?

I also find myself wondering how many wavering souls receive the push they need on this forum – the push from comments like this. How many people read, but do not comment, and take away a totally skewed version of what the teachings of Jesus are all about.

How sad is it that the Christians do not step in and stop the filth that is spewed about the forum by their own people. I can only assume that as no Christians spoke out against Mwerte in particular, you clearly all agree with what he had to say.

You fight against the atheists as if they, the atheists, will cause the demise of Christianity. Christians, it won’t be the atheists who sound the death knell for your religion – it will be YOU, the Christians.

How unutterably sad.
