Not all South Africans deserve the blame for xenophobic attacks

In the midst of all this xenophobic bloodshed I thought wait a minute, why are all South Africans or Zulu speaking people being blamed for these attacks. Yes I am foreigner living in South Africa and I am saddened by these vicious acts on my fellow countrymen but we really have to be realistic and take into consideration that NOT all South Africans or Zulu people are the problem.

Most South Africans are ashamed by what is happening. I have seen pictures and videos of some South Africans helping injured foreign nationals, helping them pack their precious belongings to take shelter at safer places, shielding foreign children as they walk across streets or even undermining xenophobic actions on several social media platforms. To me that is a meaning of goodness, support and love.

Many people believe that these attacks are a sign of underlying issues, that may be true or that may not be. There could be various assumptions thrown across but people need to remember that the culprits all have an understanding and they have come to believe that what they are doing is right. Yes these people are South Africans but they do not represent all South Africans.
