I have often wondered on this matter, and have tried to stay clear of the matter as far as possible, until I have enough information.

To start us on the right direct I like to quote the following:

“Shedim is the Hebrew word for demons. The word shedim appears only twice (always plural) in the Tanakh, at Psalm 106:37 and Deuteronomy 32:17. It was possibly a loan-word from Akkadian in which the word sedu referred to a protective, benevolent spirit. Both times the term appears in the Tanakh, it deals with child or animal sacrifice to false gods that are called demons.[3] The word may also derive from the "Sedim, Assyrian guard spirits"[4] as referenced according to lore "Azael slept with Naamah and spawned Assyrian guard spirits known as sedim".[5]
Folklore and Kabbalah
Shedim are said to have had the feet and claws of a cock.[6] According to one legend, the shedim are descendants of serpents, or of demons in the form of serpents, alluding to in the serpent in Eden as related in Genesis. To others they are descendants of Adam and Lilith. Another legend said that God had started making them, intending for them to be humans, but did not complete their creation because He was resting during the Sabbath. Even after the Shabbat, He left them how they were to show that when Shabbat comes, all work must be viewed as complete.
Supposedly, sinful people sacrificed their daughters to the shedim, but it is unclear if the sacrifice consisted in the murdering of the victims or in the sexual satisfaction of the demons. To see if these demons were present in some place, ashes were thrown to the ground or floor, and then their footsteps became visible.
The shedim are supposed to follow the dead or fly around graves.
There are many things that one is admonished not to do in order to avoid invoking shadim, such as whistling or even saying the word "shedim." Rabbi Yehudah HaChasid wrote in his tzavaah that one should not seal up windows completely because it traps shedim in the house.”

About 2 months ago, I was invited to attend a “supposed” exorcism , however could not attend due to other arrangements. In addition, a while back I was added to a facebook group called “ Die tekens van die Einde” or something similar. I was “exorcised” for that group after about 5 questions later, but contacted by two of the admins via facebook inbox which for some reason thought that I was possessed by a demon. It was quite hilarious how they practiced every binding or “spell” on me. Needless to say I was not allowed to enter again in that “sacred house” however did have multiple conversations with these two men via the same inbox or telephone conversations.
Also about 2 weeks ago, the woman that rents my flat on my property asked me if my wife and I wanted to follow the course on Occultism, starting with level 1. I quickly replied that I would.
For the next part, I have to identify the woman as “YR” and her boyfriend “BS” and the victim as “C”
On Friday night whilst enjoy a relaxing evening with the family, I was watching TV in my room when BS phoned, and stated that C has again walked away from her foster parents and if she arrives at our home I should call them immediately. See, BS recently complete his level 3 Occultism course and was busy qualifying as Emergency Services Chaplain. Further, BS was C’s councilor as she had difficulty with her family members. I was however kept in the dark of the exact nature.
Before I continue, I am not saying all these events are of the same nature however, this one I experienced firsthand…
About 5 to 10 minutes after this called I heard someone at my front door. I saw it was C. She looked pale and under some form of duress. I saw that her hands were tied behind her back with cable ties. I called my wife and requested my kids to bring me something to cut these cable ties.
I could also determined that she was not fully herself, since her pupils was like some who was under influence of alcohol or drugs. I had my friends in the army that used drugs, hence my knowledge on this.
It was maybe 30 seconds later when C said she was not feeling well and collapsed on our floor. I told my wife about BS’s request and she phoned him. He is also a full time firefighter and on duty. He stated he was on his way and we had to wait. She informed him that she was delirious and spoke unclear. He overheard me saying I am going to take off the cable ties. He stated very clearly not to do so as there was something going on.
I was confused about the instruction and stated to me wife that we had to call the police and ambulance as she started to shake like if in an epileptic fit. My wife then said that there was issue and that she was apparently offered to satan. I told her that that is just ridiculous and this was a reaction to alcohol and drugs. She said I should start praying and that this is what level 1 Occultism entails and I had to think seriously in doing this course because of the nature of my response.
In the meantime, we made her as comfortable as possible, by placing her on her side as to clear her airway and place a cushion under her head. We also instructed our eldest to take the other children to the opposite side of the house, as not to involve them in the situation.
BS and YR finally arrived in an emergency vehicle. On entry of our house, BS cut off the cable ties, and YR said to me that she was sorry to involve us in this and that I must be shocked. I said no and that this was merely a reaction to drug and or alcohol. The next moment it looked like BS was demon possessed as he screamed at me that it wasn’t and if I say that he would harm me. At this moment, she was also free of the cable ties and he was sitting on her backside, his hands firmly holding C’s arms below the wrist. See, C was about 24 years old and you could see she had it rough and with her many consultations with BS developed a certain closeness to him. In my silly opinion, a crush of sorts.
All of a sudden, he started saying some sort binding “spell” to her. What also needs to be said is that she filed some of her teeth to look like those teeth that vampires have. She started leopard crawling on the carpet with him on top ( she is about 60kg and him being 118kg), hissing and spitting and flinging her head backwards in order to connect with him on his head. This was repeated over and over again. About halfway through, she appeared to come out of this trance and opened her eyes. However, according to both BS and YR, “she wasn’t there and it was something else. She apparently was able to “transport” or teleport or whatever word was used. I just grinned.
Whilst this was happening, YR came in very few minute and then saying words in some unknown language and I thought this was an attempt to “talking in tongue”. My wife assisted where she could, wiping C’s head with wet cloth when there was moments of stillness. She eventually vomited after multiple commands to “spilt the demon out”. All that came was something smelling like liquor, a mixture of black label beer and some hard liquor. To me this was clear evidence of someone unable to handle her liquor, but was to be corrected by these “experts”.
C’s foster parents was also called during these events, and when they arrived they help her get into the vehicle and after a conversation of 15 min they left, what was surprising to me there was to young men walking in the street up and down and was known by YR and BS. To me, I could make the connection since their interest was confirmed when they kept on staring into our yard during this conversation outside, and C being passed out in the vehicle.
Now my thoughts on this, one of the reasons I was annoyed is that there is no reference to demons hissing and spitting and making like a snake when confronted by Jesus or the disciple. It is part of the misunderstanding of serpent and Leviathan mythology in the Jewish Kabbalah and Talmud. I explained this in my article mentioned above. What one has to take note of is the reference to idols or “gods that was worshipped by some of the pagans at that stage, seen from the perspective of a culture that had to refer to this as something they were unfamiliar with or did not agree with. They were described as “evil”.
After this BS stated that this headbutting is sign of demon possession, I jokingly replied I had met many “demon possessed” women and men in my life, depending on what I said to them. Sometimes a small word triggers a reaction which others deem as “demons”. Most of these “ tantrum happened on the words “ altare and sonpilare”. BS did apologize afterwards and shook my hand; however, I have no doubt, where the problem or “demon” lies. Even that attempt to speak in tongues by YR brought a smile to my face, as my view on it aligns with one described in Acts, and hers is the same as many denominations that have that practice to twist it to suit the view. Not different from what we all do.
Again I state this is an isolated event and may not be seen by all as the real thing, and there maybe situation where certain things cannot be explained. However, I guarantee you, from my point of view, the “event” gets a meager 5 of 10, with the majority of the points based on the realisation how the “fables” we tell ourselves control our lives…
