Open letter to MT Sabisa

We have all heard that ID theft has become a popular pastime for criminals. But what do you do when someone steals your cell phone’s number. (Or your mobile phone’s “ID,” so to speak?)

This is an open letter to an unscrupulous scoundrel who goes by the name of “MT Sabisa.”

Sabisa is suffering from some common indigenous ailments. The first of his disorders is called: “the culture of non-payment (TCNP).” This disease is extremely common and has caused the closure and demise of many greedy businesses who gave credit on a willy-nilly, ad hoc, basis.

The second sickness this unscrupulous scoundrel is suffering from is called: “living way above your means (LWAYM).” By the way, an extraordinary number of PDI’s seem to be suffering from LWAYM. (Or is this just my imagination?)

Sabisa’s third malady has reached epidemic proportions, is widespread, and has become the trademark of all ANC politicians, government officials, and their employees. It is called “dishonest to the core (DTTC).”

For the past four months, I have been getting cell phone calls, and SMS’s, from people who think that my number belongs to Mr. MT Sabisa.

Nowadays, whenever I get a call from a “Private Number,” I answer as follows:

“Hello, Sabisa speaking.”

This is normally followed by: “Mr. Sabisa, we have not received any payment,” or, “Mr. Sabisa, we are going to hand you over unless you settle your account today.” Or, “Mr. Sabisa, what is your new address?” Or, “Mr. Sabisa, you have not kept to our arrangement.”

Now, there are a couple of things at work here. I can understand if Sabisa has, accidently, given up my number at ONE of the places where they required his cell phone number and contact details. But not when he has given up my number at ALL the places he has done business with.

And, the companies who are baying for his blood: Have they NO OTHER way, or method, of getting hold of this unscrupulous scoundrel? How do you do business, if you grant loans – or sell things to people on hire purchase – without checking their credibility, ID’s, home addresses, places of work, etc?

I, Eric de la Vega de Castro, was once known as the world’s greatest sleuth, finest detective, and the most superb investigator in both the Southern and Northern hemispheres. And, although I’m not as good as I once was, I’m as good once as I ever was. (I stole that line from Toby Keith, Sakkie!)

I have been able, from all the SMS’s and telephone calls that I’ve received, to piece together ALL of Mr. MT Sabisa’s personal details.

So here is my warning to this unscrupulous scoundrel:

Sabisa, I am going to disclose and publish your full names, address, ID number, and photo (which I got it from your FB), here on News24, if you do not pay up.

I will also publish the names of the people and businesses to which you are indebted.

Name and shame is the game, MT Sabisa!

From Capitec Bank, to which you are deeply indebted; to VVM Debt Collectors who would do anything to get hold of your unscrupulous backside. They’ll all be able to get hold of you. Your game is up.

Lastly, Mr. Sabisa – if you should get to read this open letter:

I want you to call me if you have any “challenges” with my threat to “name and shame” you. After all, you have my cell number – you’ve been given it out often enough.
