Criminals on the rampage, holding our country to ransom.
With utter disgust I watched the News last night and learnt the terrible fate of the young man ( four years old) that died at the hands of barbaric criminals during a hijacking. My heartfelt condolences to the family and I hope that they are caught and justice is swift.
These people are lower than the lowest and should not be allowed to live or breathe in our lovely country. All these criminals do is literally and figuratively steal the air we breathe. Now, I know the death penalty has been deemed unconstitutional and all that rubbish, My Neighbour Gus and I agree that should we be faced with the smallest chance of getting caught and facing the noose after committing a serious offence, we would definitely think twice about going the crime route. This is fact.
But let us look at a few facts regarding the death penalty.
· Once the punishment has been meted out, there is no moneys required to “look after” the offending individual, surely releasing more of our hard earned tax to be used to improve somewhere else in the budget, i.e health, education( I am sure Jub-Jub would agree on this point) hell man even Nkandla!
· No unnecessary food and drink bills as the individual has gone “to some place better”
Please understand me Sir, I am not saying that all people in our jails must be given the death penalty, only those who have committed serious crimes (murder, rape of children, support of the Lions rugby team) and only once their guilt has been proved beyond reasonable doubt should the punishment be meted out. As for the rest of the people behind bars let us at least take their vote and TVs away, these poor individuals are not contributing positively to the growth of our country and are being supported by us in any event, the law abiding citizen, I do not see how a vote is important to them.
However, whom they sharing a cell with would be extremely important to them wouldn’t you think. I strongly recommend that these people also do hard labour, nothing like a real hard day’s work in the blazing sun to make you think about the felonies that you have committed.
To conclude on this point Mr. President, the death penalty in severe cases is required and individuals who commit murder, child rape and who hold our lovely country hostage should NOT be allowed to live in this stunning country but should be hung by the neck until they are DEAD,DEAD ,DEAD.
Taxi Drivers
As Stated before, I am a law abiding citizen and follow the road rules as I understand and interpret them, but Hell stief, the taxi drivers are a law unto themselves!
My first problem is they deal in cash money, what measures are put into place to tax the taxi operator? I am sure a sizeable income would be contributed to our national coffers should we be able to find a solution to this question, allowing us once again to increase budgets to necessary needs within our country. We could even allocate a percentage of this fund to offer them discounted K53 driving lessons, a win win situation as we will now cut down on paramedic and hospital bills as this would lead to less accidents.
Mr. President, please explain to me what gives this taxi driver the right to overtake me in a 60 km/h zone down Barry Hertzog at 120 km/h, pull back in front of me, nail on brakes causing 22 people whiplash to either unload or load up another passenger. I then, being a semi intellectual individual observe the situation, and fail to understand how another person can fit in to the taxi!
I mean Sir, a cockroach, walking on its hind legs with his stomach? (Or shell) sucked in, holding his breath will battle to find a seat, but yet one more person will get in! Where does the taxi driver put this passenger? Is there a hidden compartment in the taxi that we don’t know about? (I will direct this question to Toyota once the strike is over and they have reopened for business). This leads me onto the next question……
These operators are surely not paying fines? I mean if you travel down Barry H there is a fixed camera in a 60 km/h zone, unless I am the only idiot in Johannesburg who has not been informed that it possibly changed to a 120 km/h zone these drivers fly past me, over the camera like a bat out of hell, I am sure smiling at the camera and then pulling in front of me (as the above point mentioned).
Surely, if they are paying fines then they definitely are not making any profits and in my limited business mind, no profits equals no salaries equals no more company (or taxi in this matter).
To conclude, let us get these guys paying taxes, fines and driving properly, this is a positive contribution to the coffers and a positive contribution to my longevity, allowing me to work longer thus meaning me paying taxes longer! A win win for me, taxi operators and the government itself!
