Science is not inadequate to “prove” God’s existence, Science is inappropriate to do it.

I’M GOING TO SAY EXACTLY THE SAME THING WITH A DIFFERENT SYMANTIC DOMAIN:
“Give me verifiable evidence for the existence of God, I want proof without which I will not subscribe.”
Usain Bolt cannot run the 100Litres, neither can Chad le clos swim it, he could barely bath in it, he could drink it over a period of time. But He cannot Run the 100Litres, that is an inappropriate apparatus of measurement. Neither can Usain Bolt run the 100m in a record 9.55kg’s. For the very same reason above.
God is transcendent! This places God outside the scope of mortal scrutiny, outside the scope of evidence, outside the scope of measurement, outside the scope of scientific enquiry.
Speed is measured by distance divided by time. Distance is measured with Metres, Time is measured with seconds. But God is measured with Faith!
There is no alternative measuring device with which to read, see, find, feel, know or understand God.
This is not difficult to understand at all. The insistence for proof on the part of God displays a few characteristic traits of the human heart mentioned below:
Demanding proof displays Ignorance of the Character, nature and attributes of God. He is Spirit, He is Transcendent, He is immutable, He is omniscient. He is relational, He is perfect in Beauty and creation is a poor and tainted shadow of His personality. Creation is the only finger prints we have of God. Everything derives its definition from Him, out of Him, because of Him and for Him.
You might ask, How the heck did you find that out? Faith in the truthfulness of his word. That is where the road forks for many. Some bank it, others reject it. Period.
The necessity for proof demonstrates an unwillingness to exercise what is natural and normal for humans to exercise in the absence of verifiable proof: namely Faith. This is ugly because it implies a conscience moral decision not to give what it has to give. It makes the rejection of God a moral decision and not a scientific decision.
The necessity for proof demonstrates hypocrisy. Do you require Verifiable evidence from your wife that she loves you? Or do you believe her word for it. Even when you fought with her or disagree with her or when her actions cost you personally, the obvious facts of the fight/argument/costs does not nullify that you believe her word that she loves you. Yet you do not have verifiable evidence that she does love you or that she did not cheat on you. In the case with God, some suggest the burden of proof lies with the Christians to prove that he does exist and not with atheist to prove that he does not exist. Well, does the burden of proof rest with your wife to prove that she does actually love you or is that a matter of trust working itself out through the joys and pains of Married life?
The necessity for proof demonstrates naturalism, repetition and singularity with the human nature as a species over history. Some on this forum are of the opinion that they were the first to “start thinking” by asking for Proof. This is old news, this has been done before, you are a part of a tradition of humans who have always through the years demanded proof. Welcome J.
The necessity for proof demonstrates Wickedness. This one comes from Jesus Himself. When they asked him for proof, he referred them to Jonah and said “Only a wicked and adulterous generation will ask for proof” Why? Because proof negates faith and faith is the currency of God. Without Faith you cannot see him enjoy him or please him. At the heart of the need for proof is an accusation that God is a Liar. And consequently untrustworthy.
The foolishness of proof is that it will achieve nothing! This is what most do not realize because they have never gone further in their thinking process. Let’s imagine the impossible for a moment. Let’s assume that we collectively find proof that God is real. Then what? Do you think that then all of a sudden you will worship him, or will you then interrogate him about some of your misconceptions of history and his character and purposes under the sun? Proof will achieve nothing! 100% Nothing. It is an aimless meaningless exercise. Because the currency of God is faith, not proof. You see, love, enjoy please and come to understand through faith, not proof. It is spiritual, not natural, God regenerates the soul that believes supernaturally, not through the 7 habbits of successful living.
Everyone has proof. We know it, all of us. We just call it different things…some call it “chance”, others “luck”, some call it “coincidence”, some call it “unexplainable”, some call it “crazy”, some call it the big bang, others find alternative explanations that are reasonable with natural possibility so as to cancel out the possibility of God…we all call it something and in the end we either ascribe it to the sovereign will of God or we explain and dismiss it into natural causes. But the point is, nobody is without proof.
Proof is withheld intentionally and deliberately so that the Righteous will live by faith. So that faith can reign as the currency of truth, light, love, hope, clarity, meaning and purpose. There is no scientific verifiable evidence of proof for that which is transendent! Stop looking for it, you will never find it.
Proof is subjective and personal. Ask a Christian for proof and they will not stop talking to you about their lives. You disqualify that because it is not dressed in a white coat wearing spectacles with a few test tubes in the hand? Yet you expect people to believe you when you narrate your weekend?
But you do have proof. This is your most concrete evidence that you will ever have and you have it today: The fact that you need proof to believe in God while others do not have that same need. Then know that you might be preserved for an alternative purpose to that of Glory honour and immortality.
You do not deep fry chips in water! You deep fry chips in oil. You do not fill up your car with Brandy, you fill it up with Fuel. You do not believe in God through proof, you believe in God through faith in Christ.
