Questions about God

Throughout the week, I’ve been enabled by the Holy Spirit to answer pertinent questions regarding God.

Initially we discovered that the Bible is indeed the word of God. We discovered that it was written by different authors under the inspiration of God.

For no prophecy was ever produced by the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit. 2 Peter 1 vs 21

We also discovered that the Bible has been proven archeologically true, and is the word of God.

But these have been written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing you may have life in His name. John 20 vs 31

Then we discovered that nature’s complexity and complementary functionality further attests to the existence of the Divine Creator. We saw how the balance & complexity of the galaxy, the uniqueness & balance of earth, the complementary function of its inhabitants (for example trees give oxygen to humans, humans give carbon dioxide to trees) and even the anatomy of the human body all prove that indeed there is an author who put everything in its place and enabled complementary existence as a sign of co-dependence, a perfect example of what true love should be.

We then discussed what constitutes the true church for those that wanted to worship God in truth. We discovered that the Bible gives the characteristics of a true church and that any church that fits those characteristics worships God in truth.

“And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ” (Revelation 12:17).

We also discovered that a church is not determined by its members but rather its Biblical policies, and if they are in line with what the Biblical principles then they worship God in truth. The Bible also gave us the characteristics as thus;

1.       KEEPS ALL TEN COMMANDMENTS

2.       HAS THE SPIRIT OF PROPHECY

3.       PREACHES THE MESSAGE OF THREE ANGELS (Revelation 14) ON A WORLD-WIDE SCALE

After discovering that the Bible was God’s word, that nature also attests to the existence of God, and that to worship God in truth you had to adhere to the commandments of God, we then dwelt on which was the true day of worship;

“Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. Six days you shall labour and do all your work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your male or female servant, nor your animals, nor any foreigner residing in your towns….Exodus 20 vs 8

We then answered a pertinent question, whether or not Jesus changed observance of the commandments;

If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father's commands and remain in his love. John 15 vs 10

“Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfil them. I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished” (Matthew 5:17-18).

We also saw how Jesus emphasized the Sabbath commandment;

“The Son of Man is Lord also of the Sabbath” (Luke 6:5)

And we also saw what the Bible (God’s word) also says about keeping all commandments;

For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it. James 2 vs 10

Finally, we proved that the change from Sabbath (7^th day worship) to Sunday (1^st day worship) was done by the Roman Catholic Church, without Biblical authority;

1.      Letter from C.F. Thomas, Chancellor of Cardinal Gibbons on October 28, 1895:

-         Of course the Catholic Church claims that the change was her act…And the act is a MARK of her ecclesiastical power and authority in religious matters.

2.      American Catholic Quarterly Review (January 1883):

-         Sunday...is purely a creation of the Catholic Church.

3.      Stephen Keenan, Catholic—Doctrinal Catechism 3rd Edition: 174:

-         Question: Have you any other way of proving the Church has power to institute festivals of precept?

Answer: Had she not such power, she could not have done that in which all modern religionists agree with her, she could not have substituted the observance of Sunday the 1st day of the week, for the observance of Saturday the 7th day, a change for which there is no Scriptural authority.

4.      Catholic Priest T. Enright, CSSR, lecture at Hartford, KS, Feb 18, 1884:

-         I have repeatedly offered $1000 to any one who can furnish any proof from the Bible that Sunday is the day we are bound to keep...The Bible says, “Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy,” but the Catholic Church says, “No, keep the first day of the week,” and the whole world bows in obedience.

Why am I’m writing these articles?

-         To preach the good news of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, in preparation of his second coming

-         Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen. (Matthew 28 vs 19, 20)

To whom am I writing these articles?

-         To anyone who wants to know the truth about God

-         I am the door; if anyone enters through Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture.
