Rainbow nation or blame nation?

We entered a new democratic state in 1994 with the election of a new government.

The aim for this was to create a new and improved society in South Africa, one where all are treated equal and that we can function as one, with each individual having the right to say what they want to say, enforcing the freedom of speech, for each to have the same opportunity their neighbour has.

This would have been a great strategy if it was the intention. What do we have today? A rainbow nation as described in the newly adopted constitution? Or do we have a blame nation?

A nation where its leader stands on a pedal stool pointing fingers for his mistakes, blaming others, instead of being a true leader and admitting that he made a mistake. Saying that those who wronged him are to blame. Let’s say that is true, so what does that mean.

Every person that wronged Zuma and every other person that was a victim, in the period of apartheid is either 70 years old, older or dead.

Children that grew up during apartheid never contributed to the struggle of the disadvantaged, they were children. Should they be blamed for the mistakes of their parents? If so, they too are reaching middle age. Since 1994 a new era of South Africans were born, ones that do not know about discrimination and apartheid.

They are now entering adulthood, what have we taught them? What has their education been? Have we taught them to be open-minded, or have we created a distorted society, one that has learned to blame instead of progress. Yes, that is a fact, there is no progress when there is blame, and progress points forward and blame points backwards.

Let us get realistic here for a while, let’s forget about skin colour and cultures. How much can we achieve if we are not teaching the people, especially the children, of this country to work and earn that which they desire, instead of taking it or telling them that they are owed that. We have not created a fair society, but one of fraud and lies and blame.

If you argue with this statement let me ask you this, has the leader of this country committed fraud? Or Lied? Or blamed someone else for their mistakes? Are you, or we sitting around blaming other for our mistakes. Do we really think that blaming an extinct regime would solve our problems? Wow, extinct regime? Yes, it does not exist so it is extinct.

The whites of apartheid should pay back the money they so wrongly earned during apartheid? Let’s be serious. South Arica has made four times the money during the ANC regime, than it did when the apartheid regime was running the country. I am sorry to inform you dear president Zuma, but you and your fellow participants in our current government have squandered more money, through corruption, fraud, negligence and social engagement, than the whole government made during apartheid.

As a matter of fact, I agree, all apartheid whites, must pay back the money, and in fairness, so must every person who committed fraud, stolen and squandered money illegally through tenders or any related service. Fair is fair, let us all pay back the money owed.

All the ministers, municipalities, government departments, CEO’s, Treasures and so many more that have taken when they should not have taken, should pay back the money.
