I never believed in Santa Claus, mainly because my parents never invested neither time nor money to make Santa look good or real. I therefore never bothered to write to the unreliable, non delivering Santa again, I believed he or she was not worth my efforts. It’s recently that my faith in Santa has been restored; when Ellen Tshabalala decided to officially resign, I thought there must be a Santa out there. I mean our judicial, prosecution and every other system that you can associate with the law and good governance seem to be plagued with corruption and therefore the only way to really put right what is wrong in our country, is through people owning up to their transgressions otherwise nothing happens.
I therefore decided to take advantage of this silly season and ask Santa for what every South African probably has on their Christmas list but because they are too busy blowing money on Christmas presents and spending too much time eating junk at the Malls, they have not invested time in writing to Santa. I therefore would like Santa to grant me these 7 Christmas wish.
President Zuma must resign: I don’t know if I am losing my mind or being unreasonable but I have become obsessed with the President of our country resigning, I honestly think he is at the crux of our challenges in South Africa, he represents poor leadership, lack of accountability, flawed character and this has become the status quo in both Public and Private Sectors and it needs to stop
Hlaudi Motsoeneng must resign: Can Pallo Jordan, Pansy Tlakula, Ellen Tshabalala please do us the honourable thing and talk to Hlaudi, this guy is more stubborn than King Pharaoh who refused to listen to Moses even when God was punishing the Egyptians
The real Cyril Ramaphosa must stand up: I think Cyril is trapped in his life, his past; his present and his future are in conflict. On one hand he used to understand the needs of the masses, on the other hand he is this wealthy businessman who see the masses from a cost perspective, on the third hand he has a desire to reconnect with everyone, both poor and wealthy because that’s what Presidents aspire to do
Eskom must Un-Steve themselves: Can Eskom stop playing games and be transparent to us about the real and depth of the challenges in the organisation. The thing about being stingy with the truth is; it delays your ability to deal with the truth. Eskom needs a well thought out turnaround strategy and that includes critical root cause analysis and not band-aiding situations
The Enchantress should lock Steve Hofmeyr and Julius Malema in some tower: I honestly think we have enough challenges in South Africa, we could use some peace, if only the Enchantress would lock Julius and Steve in the same tower that Rapunzel was locked in, only, no Princess should come and rescue them, besides I don’t think their hair combined can serve as a ladder.
Sound strategy for our water challenges: Moons away, reports were written about looming water crisis, like with electricity we did nothing. Can we kindly take the recent water challenges seriously and like with electricity source intelligence, infrastructural rehabilitation, necessary skills and policies to address this
South Africans to unite and be active citizens: We have a beautiful country, and we can choose to insult each other because of the colour of our skin or we can work together within our spheres of influence and create a country we would love to live in. Let’s be involved citizens and make 2015 count.
