The Illuminati..likely

Taking a break from the Christian/Atheist/Oscar should have gotten more articles for a second; my friends and I were talking about GMO’s and what they mean/have meant/ will mean for us as humans. I won’t go into GMO’s too much, but the topic came up about the government getting together behind closed doors and deciding what poison to put into our meats and produce to make us all sick and in that way control the population.

*Side eye from me*, but I’m sure that’s a plausible scenario as far as conspiracy theories go. After all, it’s all business.

The point also came up, that organic food isn’t really organic anymore, since these mutated seeds are all that remain and even if you plant your own vegetables, they’re still going to have the modified genes.

OK, OK, OK. That’s all fine and I can sort of wrap my head around that and see this point, even if I’m reluctant to believe it myself. Not because I’m an optimist and don’t think the government isn’t capable of something like that, but because I’m a sceptic and like hypnosis and ghosts, I need to SEE it before I can actually believe it.

Then someone else brought up the Illuminati; I know, I need new friends…  Anyway, this person said that if we believe in government having secret meetings and controlling the population with food, how much of a stretch is it actually to then believe in the Illuminati and the new world order and people running ALL of this behind the scenes.

Now, I won’t go so far as to include lizard people into the conversation, but does anyone have thoughts on these conspiracy theories and the Illuminati specifically?
