The solution to the xenophobic attacks can be achieved by a collective

We South Afrikans don't hate foreigners. We are loving and caring people. We are Afrikans governed by Ubuntu/Botho. When acts such as those we have seen over the couple of weeks occur, we feel ashamed, especially when they appear to occur in our name as Afrikans in this country.
And yes, we are somehow the perpetrators and the villains by virtue that we have failed to stop this type of hooliganism and we have allowed it to go so far, but we are also the victims because we die inside with those who are dying on the street. We feel their pain as every Afrikan, here and everywhere in the diaspora is child, our brother, our sister, our mother, our father, uncle and aunts. We are compelled by our bond to feel their pain no matter the tribe or country of birth as drawn by the Europeans.
We cannot offer excuses for the hooligan's behaviour, speculate on the state of mind or reasons because there are no excuses or reasons that exists today that can be the excuse to take another Afrikan's life because he or she crossed a border to come here to find a better life.
We urgently, together with all our family in Afrika, need to find solutions to this particular problem. There is no time to point fingers at individuals or accused a group or leaders. That can be formulated later through the root cause of this particular incident. We however need to find a solution that will effectively end the xenophobic attacks once and for all. Seemingly, whatever decisions were taken to address the 2008 xenophobic attacks were neither efficient nor enough to address the causes of the attacks.
Together, let us find the host of the problem, address and succumb the host so that we cannot have these symptoms coming up every few years. It is imperative that leaders in various countries, communities, and social organisation find a common ground that will help get rid of the problems we are facing.
We cannot afford a situation where Afrika is divided. Like our brother Bob Marley said, Afrika Unite! We are moving out of Babylon.
