Racism is the worst form of belligerence against another person, and it’s not just contained in the colour of skin and appearance, but manifest also in stigmatisation of cultural and religious traditions. Black, yellow, brown or white, each one of us are in essence a human being.
Yes, we are not created equal and have many diverse differences, and to put a name on a few of these would include mental capacity, physical appearance, language and believes. Does this however make us a lesser human in comparison? I think not.
We behave towards others different than ourselves in a manner that is reflective of our own circumstances, upbringing and education because we tend to look at the lesser qualities in others compared to ourselves, and meanwhile subsequently forgetting that in someone else’s eyes we posses equal lesser attributes which manifests itself in the various differences between ethnicities.
We need to start looking at the positive and strong attributes of each person to evaluate the contribution they bring into the fold of a diverse nation of people. Not all of us can be Einstein’s, and equally so, cannot all of us possess physical strength for strenuous tasks.
So when a person start to be derogative against another based on superficial and superfluous attributes of a person’s specific ethnicity, it is reflective of their own lesser attributes which they are trying to subdue into the shadows of their own persona.
Why did I write this article? To speak out in my own way against the “commenter’s” who so quickly and blatantly display their own short sightedness when someone with a different ethnical culture perceive a matter of importance on a different level and background.
There is an old saying that people living in glass houses, should not cast the first stone. So today, and maybe tomorrow, someone with these tendencies will read here and perhaps, just perhaps... think again before slanting someone on a post he placed, or ventured a comment he thinks from his perspective is justified.
