Update on fire Betty's bay

Good Morning Vietnam......

again, 

Choppers and spotter planes arrive at 06.45

tuk atuk atuk atuk,

the noise is unbearable, choppers are picking up water from Bass lake in front , they flying so low, I can see the colour of the pilots eyes!

Exhauted firefighters, lying amongst burnt and smoldering fynbos, resting.

Incredible co-ordination between all the support in the air and ground.

I am grateful for these folk, I shudder to think, what my piece of heaven, would look like, had all precious and beautiful vegetation been burned.

As far as I know, no damage to any properties

Fire has been stopped, roughly about 100 metres away from our house, and for those of you that have not been, its by far the most densely wooded property in Betty's Bay

Its so silent now, I can only hear the birds, happy their home is safe I guess.
