Where are our true leaders?

Our beloved South Africa is on a perilous path at present. A very bleak future is appearing on the horizon, a future of bloodshed, maybe genocide, a collapsed economy for sure, starvation as a result, unspeakable horrors and oppression.

This can be avoided, but only IF the right leaders emerge to take very firm control NOW, and work hard towards changing direction.

We have an absence of solid leadership from the office of the President almost all the way down.  The stench of corruption and weakness of character cling to our president.  We don’t see him taking any decisive action for the betterment of the country.

Our Police Services have degenerated generally speaking to a militaristic rabble of corrupt men and women, with a handful of people of integrity still remaining. As a result violent and senseless crime is at an all time high.  Health services are battling, education is churning out unemployables, and unemployment figures keep rising. Infrastructure is slowly deteriorating, service levels still fall in the main, but here I do acknowledge the exceptions of SARS and more recently Home Affairs.  Billions of Rands are wasted annually due to gross mismanagement and corruption.  The defense force remains embroiled in allegations of the procurement scandal while the overall efficiency has declined to the point of it being laughable.

Trade Unions and their strikes are causing serious immediate and incalculable long term harm to our economy, and investor confidence is being challenged severely.

The icing on the top are the never ending “-gates” … Travel-gate, Nkandla-gate, Gupta-gate, Aurora-gate and Marikana.Corruption and Maladministration scandals occur one after another, while Zuma's family members receive business opportunities and plumb jobs they have clearly not qualified for.

The people on the ground are despairing and getting restless. Life is getting harder and harder for all except the seriously rich, who by the nature of their wealth are often quite out of touch with the harsh realities of daily existence in RSA.

Onto this stage steps a man who is poorly educated, ostracized by the ruling party, facing a string of criminal charges himself, YET he dynamically speaks the words the itching ears of the most downtrodden and hopeless masses wish to hear. His popularity grows by the day.

Malema may have a poor educational track record, and we all quickly scoff at his woodwork marks. But he is a canny and opportunistic political person who has the ability, maybe with the EFF, to make president. And that is when the horrors will begin.

As someone once said, “Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large numbers” , and it is this very wave that Malema is surfing.

Think Adolf Hitler, Joseph Stalin; Idi Amin; Joseph Koney; Pol Pot; to name but a few.

These were all poorly educated men who were able to manipulate individuals and the masses to further their own political agendas, leading in every instance to chaos.

“The great mass of people...will more easily fall victim to a big lie than to a small one."  And ….. "What luck for rulers that men don't think." – Adolf Hitler.

Even just these two truths one can already see and hear Malema using incredibly effectively.

South Africa, a once proud nation, is tottering towards a political watershed, and if men and women of caliber are not on stage, and soon, the future alluded to will happen. Maybe not next year, or even in two years time, but it will happen.

I make no pretence at being a prophet, but I have read history, and bloody history is about to repeat itself in RSA unless decisive action is taken sooner than later.

Cry our beloved country.
