The Lord speaking about the signs of the end had this to say: "And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come."--Matthew 24:14. The second coming marks the end of the world, and notice that before that end comes the "gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world". So it is already evident that the gospel is preached before the second coming. Now read the following carefully: "And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people, Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters."--Revelation 14:6, 7. Not only have we read that the gospel must be preached to all nations before the end, but in this message of the first angel we are further told that during this preaching of the gospel "the hour of his[God's] judgment is come".
Thus it is of no doubt, theres a judgment which takes place during the time of this gospel being preached. For it says the hour of judgment "is come" not "will come". Hence Christ can say in Revelation he is coming with the reward to give each man, for he would already have determined before who were to go to heaven. The question should arise then; who are to be judged at this Judgment?
We need not look far, it is written: " For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?"-- 1 Peter 4:17, Here is revealed that those who are to be Judged first is the house of God here being his Church, you may say why would God judge those who profess Him, well, Peter continues: "And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear?"- verse 18. It is because Christ will have to separate the wheat and the tares which have grown within his church, that he ought to determine those who will be fit to go to heaven, - hence in the end Christ would be coming to take those who will be going to heaven- hence the Judgment of the church must take place before the second coming.
With clear description Paul says: "But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at naught thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ."--"For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad."--Romans 14:10 & 2 Corinthians 5:10 ...How then are the Christians to appear before the judgment seat? Does it mean literal appearance? And where will this Judgment be taking place? It is given us: "I beheld till the thrones were cast down, and the Ancient of days did sit...thousand thousands ministered unto him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him:the judgment was set, and the books were opened... and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days.."--Daniel 7:9, 10, 13...In this is shown to us that it is through "the books" that we are to "appear" before the judgment seat, and it is even clear that this takes place in Heaven. Remember, this judgment we have already discovered happens before the second coming. But what is it about us that is in the books or records in this judgment?
"For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil."--Ecclesiastes 12:14----The records of our lives.
