I'm a patriotic South African, and truth be told, Uhuru Kenyatta is clearly popular with his people than our president Jacob Zuma.
I'm not sure if Kenyatta updates his own Facebook statuses, but I have been following his Facebook page for sometime now. There is clearly far less criticism from his people than what I've seen from Zuma's official presidential Facebook page.
What's even more interesting is that Minister Fikile Mbalula who is active on Facebook, and who writes his own Facebook statuses seems to be more popular to the public than the President.
These observations are worrying, considering that Zuma got to where he is through his popularity. They also indirectly insinuates that although he is with a popular political party but Zuma is not popular with the masses any more.
The common man on the street does not identify with Zuma any more. The middle class and corporates and upper class does not identify with him. He is classless.
And this means that he is going down in history as the worst president of the ANC and of the country.
I still think it's not too late to salvage whatever political ground and pride he has left though.
