Well, hello free thinking guys and girls,
I can quite imagine that after the weekend and the supposed Christian miracle gathering you are also faced by this unavoidable topic in the office this morning. One of my favourite line from this morning for instance: “If god chose Angus to speak for him and make money while doing so then it’s very good for him.” A statement with enough repulsiveness as to make it entertaining.
I fully respect my Christian colleagues point of view, but why bring it up around the non- or different of religious people in the office. Especially when they instantly claim offense as soon as you mention the proclivity of assuming no better use of time or charity as prayer. I mean seriously, why flaunt your point of view if you are not willing to have it countered or openly discussed. This truly is an extremely one sided conversation. So be open to discussion when discussing.
To end of my rant, a quote from Karl Marx:
“The abolition of religion as the illusory happiness of the people is the demand for their real happiness. To call on them to give up their illusions about their condition is to call on them to give up a condition that requires illusions. The criticism of religion is, therefore, in embryo, the criticism of that vale of tears of which religion is the halo.”
