Baphi Abelungu? The DA is no longer a 'white' party

Why don't whites march with the DA?

Good question, but a couple of comments:

1. A few years back when protests weren't yet a 'thing' (around the time of Nkandla I think) there were a few protests against Zuma that attracted barely anyone, except for mostly white middle class people. Much was made of this fact, and it was used as yet another excuse to demonise white people as racist, longing for apartheid, etc etc. Fast forward a few years and the situation is quite different.

2. I've seen plenty of pictures from some of the recent marches and have been really heartened to see black, white, coloured, etc all participating. Scenes such as this cement my hope that we are all, beyond the media and the politics, happy to be living in one, amazing country

3. Having said that yes, mass mobilisations do seem to be oddly lacking in white people. Do you think it could be that simply we are outnumbered? i.e. we are a tiny percentage of the population, so even if we were proportionally represented at these marches, don't you think we'd simply be difficult to spot?

Just some thoughts. But one thing is for sure - the days of the DA being seen as a whites only party are long gone, and that can only be a very good thing.
