Dear Julius Malema

Julius, over the years I have always wondered what is up with the EFF.

One day the whole country is behind you, while you do your level best to get the president to resign, the next day you spoil it all by calling for land to be taken away from whites without compensation.
I could never understand how you can one day seem to be rallying for a good cause, and the next day you sow division by making remarks that border hate speech. But I think I know what’s happening and I think it’s time your plan gets made public.

You tell people to take land and to nationalise the mines and banks, but you don’t tell them about your ambitions to be Africa’s next communist dictator, do you?

Well, let me start by explaining how I get to this conclusion. As you very well know, one of your hero’s past away recently, you know, your friend from Cuba, what was his name again? Oh yes, Fidel Castro.
You openly admitted that the ANC was not worthy of attending his funeral or morn his death because they do not appreciate what he did for South Africa. You went on about how Fidel liberated Cuba and how grateful we all should be. We all could see that his death really saddened you.

I can only assume that Fidel’s life and work left a huge impression on you, hence your EFF party took a lot of Cuba’s ideas and made it their own. Now before we can delve into this more, we first need to bring our readers up to speed with what Fidel Castro stood for and what his ideals were:

There has been plenty of differing comments about Fidel, some say he was a liberator and revolutionary, other call him a horrid dictator who was guilty of crimes against humanity. I am going to reserve my opinion about the man, but I will tell you what he signified.

Fidel believed in a political system called Marxism-Leninism, this ideal comes from a man named Karl Marx and comes down to creating a socialist state or one-party state, it also opposes Capitalism and supports the class struggle. So in short, Marxism-Leninism comes down to communism in its best form.

When Fidel took control of Cuba after defeating Fulgencio Batista in 1959 one of the first things he did was to nationalise all U.S.-owned businesses, including oil refineries, factories and casinos without compensation. This prompted the United States to end diplomatic relations and impose a trade embargo that still stands today.

Another wave began in 1961, amid the nationalisation of educational institutions, hospitals, private land, and industrial facilities.  Additionally, the Castro government began a political crackdown on the opposition, either incarcerating opponents or perceived opponents or executing them.

At this point, after the Bay of Pigs Invasion, Castro had gone from a self-proclaimed non-communist freedom fighter to a self-proclaimed Marxist–Leninist.

Somewhere in the above paragraph something sounds familiar, where have we heard this sort of thing before? I know, the EFF Declaration, and I quote from your website:

1. Expropriation of South Africa’s land without compensation for equal redistribution in use.
2. Nationalisation of mines, banks, and other strategic sectors of the economy, without compensation.
3. Building state and government capacity, which will lead to the abolishment of tenders.
4. Free quality education, healthcare, houses, and sanitation.
5. Massive protected industrial development to create millions of sustainable jobs, including the introduction of minimum wages in order to close the wage gap between the rich and the poor, close the apartheid wage gap and promote rapid career paths for Africans in the workplace.
6. Massive development of the African economy and advocating for a move from reconciliation to justice in the entire continent.

From the above it is rather clear as daylight that you have strong ambitions to follow in Fidel Castro’s footsteps. But my question to you is, do your supporters know about your little scheme? It’s all fun and games to stand on a podium and tell everyone they must take the land, but do they know what you plan for them? Do they know that you want to take the nation who suffered for decades to get liberated from a white communist government, and plunge them back into a black lead communist government? Do they know that you want to abolish the classes and take away their economic freedom in all forms? Do they know that your plan entails the crippling of the economy by trying to equal the classes, which will lead to poverty never before seen in this country?

I know, in your view, Cuba is a success story, but you should also tell people about the other things. For example, Cuba received plenty of support from the Soviet Union in forms of subsidies, but when the Soviet union fell in 1990, the ramifications where significant. Cuba received an average of $8.3 billion from the Soviet Union every year, but when these subsidies fell away wages declined by 70%, food was scarce and imports evaporated, everyone suffered. It is said that the average Cuban lost 20 pounds in weight during that time.

Considering the fact that Cuba only has a population of 11 million, the Soviet subsidies kept them afloat because they had support from Russia. South Africa's population is now sitting at just over the 50 million marker, and believe me, none of the existing communist countries in the world is going to give you a cent to keep your communist dream alive. So, in short, if it wasn't for the Soviet Union, Cuba will not have the story it has.

Also, remember to tell them about the mass exodus of Cubans from Cuba to the United States. You should mention things like Operation Peter Pan, Camarioca boatlift and airlift and don't forget Mariel boatlift. Cubans left Cuba by their hundreds and thousands; in fact they are still leaving Cuba in big numbers today. Strange thing is, since the fall of the Soviet Union, Cuba has had to introduce new industries, which effectively now forces them to make use of the Western capitalist economies.

While thinking about this, I wondered what was the story with you and the whites; why is it always the whites that need to give it all back, but you keep on saying that you are not a racist? And the answer is really simple; it is all part of your communist plan.

You see every communist leader who is worth his salt needs to liberate the people from some sort of evil. He needs to fight for something and therefore needs an enemy. Fidel Castro had Batista, Mugabe had the British Empire, and in Rwanda the Hutus’ had the Tutsis’. What do you have? Well, South Africa has already been saved from Apartheid, we don’t think the ANC is going to survive 2019, and democracy is doing rather well. The country is on a one way street to disaster led by Zuma, but we don’t have real enemies (see what I did there?).

Wait a minute, if we go back to our definition of communism, we will see it’s all about being anti-capitalist, so does this means that if we are communists, we don’t like it when people profit off the backs of labourers? And what is the one thing all Africans agree on about whites; it is that they are all capitalists. And to make the case for the whites even worse is the fact that some of money they have, was gained during apartheid. Tada, we have a winner, you have an enemy to go for! What better way than to start of your communist career than to rid your fellow brothers of the evil capitalists that share in the economy?

This clever plan means that you do not need to be racist, you just need to have an anti-capitalist policy, and you are well on your way.
The irony about this whole thing is that it is not a state secret that you enjoy being rich. I mean, we have all seen your suites and cars, the tax fraud you still need to explain to SARS, even in your days at the ANC everyone was asking how you where maintaining your life style on your small ANCYL salary.  Yet, in the same sentence, you want to send South Africa down a poverty line, for the life of me I can’t seem to understand this?

You talk about being a revolutionary, but your revolution will surely end in disaster.

PS, we know you and your friends are behind the fees must fall movement. I see Wits has declared an increase in fees for 2017, if you can't even get that right, how are you planning on taking over the whole country?

But that's a discussion for another day, I am still in the process of writing you a letter about the logistics of overthrowing a government, please keep an eye on your inbox.
