Driver demerit system

The driver demerit system, yet to be introduced, will probably be as effective as a deflated rugby ball, in an international rugby match..

If and when a drivers, driving licence is suspended for say 32 days, does anybody really believe that said driver will abstain from driving? The answer is a resounding...NO!!

In this country we do not have an effective enough traffic police set up, to control and police this system. I see drivers skipping red lights, chatting and even texting on their mobiles, on a daily basis.

This system will not deter the habitual offenders, as they will ignore most any laws instituted. The reason is, we are a lawless society and nothing will change this.
