I grew up knowing that everyting I had was a privilege and that I was not entitled to anything nor did I have "rights".
The food on our table was a privilege so was the clothes we wore, education, holidays, health.
Tertiary education was a privilege only a few could afford. The result was that I learnt to appreciate what I had - I took care of my possessions, kept my portion of the earth clean, never wasted food, took pride in my school, never did anything to damage and destroy an institution which was to serve many others after me.
And now - the youth with all their rights and demands are destroying the very thing which their forefathers fought so hard for.
Will you be happy when everything is demolished and you have no alternative but to go back to schooling under trees? "Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country".
Or risk becoming just another country ravaged by poverty, unemployment, no form of schooling of any kind.
