Salute

Praise the women who make sure that they put food on the table for their families no matter how bad the situation is.

I praise the women who go to the forests to collect wood and sell it just to earn money so that they can put bread on the table. I salute you!

Domestic workers, you who are bruised every day, but you soldier on. I salute your doings for you are trying to provide a better life for your children.

I salute those women who wake up every day to create their little tuckshop from cardboard boxes, where they sell amagwinga. I salute you for the initiative you are taking to provide for, take care of, and give love to your family. Your efforts and hard work on those cold mornings is not and will not go unnoticed.

I salute women who make sure, no matter what challenges are placed before them, no matter the different kinds of storms which are attacking from all directions, that they stand firm, they stand their ground, and they protect their children, thereby protecting themselves in the process.

I salute women who have lost it all, but have never lost the love for their children. For you can take away all you want from a woman, but you can’t take away her inner beauty.  Women are the living and breathing beauty of this world.

Always remember: there would be no world without women, for women give birth to the world.
