Smoke and mirrors in the news

Watching events unfold in America really shows us how disinformation is used and confirms my deep distrust in politicians everywhere.

How do we know whether our own Government has these same tools to spy on, and ultimately, control the population any way they want?

We are finding that free speech is not real unless it conforms to someone else's ideas and opinions - pretty crazy concept but happening daily. As for Objective and factual reporting, that was lost ages ago and replaced by what makes media owners money.
We elect officials to create an environment that improves the lives of every citizen but what we get are officials who have a singular mission to improve their own lives at the expense of those that elected them.

This is a worldwide phenomenon and is also a recipe for unrest and economic disaster.

So what is the remedy when leaders see themselves as Lords and Masters over those that asked them to Govern and decide rightly on their futures ?

America, Europe and the Middle East certainly don't have workable answers and the parts that do work get rejected in favour of some kind of smoke and mirrors way of governing that looks right but isn't.

We need dialogue, truth and facts on which to base our future, not deliberate misdirection as seen in the USA and elsewhere today.

This is why social media may be the very thing that actually saves us and where the truth may be shouted from the rooftops. Will the people recognise its power to effect positive change?

I hope so.

We live in a world where facts and fiction get blurred
