The look of POWER

The look of power. We have all seen it, that look that men have, that achieved ultimate power. There is just something in that look, that you can see here is a man, that reached the top, and he enjoys the power he wields.

I have seen that look many times, over many decades, but some men take that look to new levels. They have that smirk and smile on their face that says "I am untouchable", and they are right, they are untouchable. With precision they worked themselves into positions, where they can not be challenged or removed.

That smirk on their face is a laugh at the world, that says, try your best to come at me, you will fail.

The 2 men that wears this face of being untouchable most and best, currently, is our president Jacob Zuma, and Former SABC COO Hlaudi Motsoeneng. Lets not call him former, for we all know as long as he walks through SABC doors, even as a janitor, he is in charge.

I had to appreciate the media conferences yesterday. 27 Sept 2016, with the SABS board, and Mr. Motsoeneng, him wearing a light blue hat, and he has smiles that go right around his head, and we all know what that smile means, the smile says he finds all efforts to remove him, laughable in the extreme. He is truly untouchable.

I think it is very clear at how much is wrong in our country, when certain individuals become untouchable, and our best laws and protection agencies, can do nothing. SA has focused so hard on human rights, that it is now impossible to punish any wrong doing, no matter where, and on what level.

Mr. Motsoeneng sees the SABC as his company, his playground, where he makes the rules. And even better, even though it is a business, it is again a state owned enterprise, meaning, there is no need to make profit, as government will simply pay the bill if a loss is made. This gives Mr. Motsoeneng to focus on playing games and set the SABC in directions that benefits him, and not the country.

Yes, that look of power, it must be a wonderful feeling. In computer games, we call it "God mode" meaning, you are so untouchable that bullets and fire can not kill you, you are indestructible.

We all know that the current hiccups for Mr. Motsoeneng, is merely a small speed wobble he has hit. I think he is now seriously angry, and he thinks, previously I was nice, now I am not playing nice anymore. I fear for those at SABC that stood in his way in the slightest form. I think he can not wait to be back to wield his sword. We have seen nothing yet. I think he held back this far, I think if he could do all he wants, we will be astonished.

What is quite nauseating, is how the rest of the SABC board are singing his praises, and work hard to not remove him, and make sure he will be back in full power, only a matter of time. We all know why they do it, simple, if they do not, they will be out of a job, with their nice cushy fat salary gone. It is amazing how humans beings are prepared to give up morality, in a heartbeat, for money.

But, power has a deadline, now matter how powerful some men get, the clock is ticking. It is the most fair justice of all that all off our lives will come to an end, some sooner, some later. It seems that those that achieved this ultimate power, for some reason lives longer. So, there must be something very healthy for a human body to achieve ultimate power. It seems it adds quite a few years or decades to your lifetime.

But, even so, no-one lives forever, and when the day arrives that you go six feet under, you have to ask yourself the question, was it worth it ? Was it worth it that I destroyed lives, many lives, and trample on many, so that I could get power, and make plenty of money ? Was it worth it ? When our dear Pres Zuma and dear Mr. Motsoeneng departs, how will we remember them. Will we remember them kindly, like president Mandela, or not. I know these 2 men might think, who the hell cares what we think, as long as they got what they wanted. They are right, it really does not matter what anyone thinks. As sands of time pass, all will become a blur as if it never happened.

There is always to potential chance that just maybe there is a judgment day, in the after life, I mean, even Pres Zuma believes in Jesus Christ. So, if there is a judgment day, after death, and whoever God is, analyses your life, and judges your life, will they pass the test. If there is such a day, no amount of power will help. Off course those in power, do not believe in such a day, and even if they do, they rationalize that what they are doing is for the common good anyway, and they have no bad intentions. Even murderers have very good reasons why they murder, they can motivate why they did it, so I am sure Mr. Motsoeneng can motivate why he runs the SABC the way he does.

The most fair thing in this world, is that each living organism, has to die. Imagine a world, where humans could not die. Think if dictators like Hitler, Gengis Kahn, Stalin, Lenin, Chin, and about a 100 more, could not die. Think if they could rule forever, and they could not be touched in any way, for all time. What a miserable planet this would be. I wonder who would be the ruler that would take over the whole world, and rule the whole world.

Yes, the look of power. Mr. Motsoeneng, to you I say, enjoy your power, it WILL not last, it is only temporary.

The crime is more that many citizens work to keep men in power, in power, even though they know it is not right. They do this because of fear, or of fear of not having a job. Everyone that works to keep someone unjust, in power, know when they are doing it, and why they are doing it. And ask yourself as well, is it worth it. Is it worth it to bring down a country, to defend one man, or a corporation, to defend one man. Is that man worth so much, that it overrides the well being of 50 million people in this country. Is it more important that one man prospers, even though 50 million suffers. How is it, that 50 million people, can see what is happening, yet decide to keep men like these, in power. Are we citizens really this weak, that we allow this.

We must not complain if men are giving power like this, and they absolutely destroy countries or corporations, we gave them the go-ahead, we appointed them, we voted for them, and we keep on voting for them, year in and year out.

To change the problem at SABC with Mr. Motsoeneng is very easy. If every advertiser simply do not advertise on SABC anymore. If every radio or film producers do not produce work anymore for SABC. If all refuse to sell SABC material. If all citizens refuse to listen to SABC radio channels. If all citizens simply refuse to support SABC in any way, then SABC will have to decide, are they going to keep one man in power, and bring down the SABC to a heap of rubble, or dump him and start prospering again.

But, humans are like sheep, they will not do it. They will simply sit back, see all going on, and accept it, and do nothing, but complain. They can change things, but no, they want other to do it for them. Just as long as they are not inconvenienced.

Mr. Motsoeneng and Pres Zuma, enjoy the power. Every time I see you on TV, I see that joy in your faces, that ultimate power brings. Enjoy it, and definitely pat yourselves on the back that you did so well that you could a whole country of 50 million people, in getting you where you are. There is no doubt in the slightest, that to achieve this, is no mean feat. Every time Pres Zuma has that laugh, we know he is laughing at the country thinking they can bring him down.

The look of power, many men want it, very few achieve it. I will forever be amazed at how human beings are able to destroy this world, and others, in the search for their own interests.
