BITCOIN

Remember when salaries used to come in an envelope handed over by the boss? Then all of a sudden you had to have a bank account for your salary to be paid into it... soon after the world quickly got used to plastic money, cellphone banking, internet transfers... 

Very few question or even just think about what the foundations of the currencies and money we use are. All we where taught about money was that we work for it, spend it on groceries or something and most importantly save it! save it! save it! because you never know when you need it so have some aside. Later like a surprise but much less desirable we discovered inflation an illness affecting all our money diminishing its value over time leaving us with less spending power when we wish to make use of our savings. 

We just accept it as normal that our currency looses value with time, we are okay with having no idea how much new currency notes our central bank produces, we have no idea but when the going gets tough we must all now hold hands with the authorities and suffer the consequences together of that which occurs in the background we do not know of.

This is the age of transparency, knowledge is power and with more knowledge being put to use innovations come into our world and progress comes with the change. Now imagine we knew more about the background working of our money and where able to transact with it safer and easier. Bitcoin is a decentralized digital currency, it exists and works over the internet. Bitcoin has properties much like what has been the most stable store of value and "money" in history Gold, much so that others call it digital Gold, others say its "better Gold than Gold" 

Bitcoins value went from zero to being hundreds of times more valuable that our our own Rand in just a few years. Many can't get their head around why something we cant touch or actually see is worth so much. Many I've spoken to locally can't trust this "internet thing" and quickly dismiss it for being yet another money growing or pyramid scheme, this isn't the case once you look into it with an open mind. 

Bitcoin is like the whole world having come together and unanimously decided on a currency we are to use as a whole, it breaks financial borders, A lot of companies around the world are already accepting Bitcoin as a form of payment and the "blockchain" technology that powers bitcoin has given users the trust they have in this internet currency.
