The SPCA responds too hastily

I was appalled to learn that the pets belonging to a single tenant of our retirement complex were recently removed by the SPCA as a result of a complaint of barking!

As this is a pet-friendly complex, I feel strongly that potential tenants who cannot tolerate animals, should be asked to reconsider their choice of domicile, since there are very many No Animals options for rental, and hardly any Pet-Friendly.

People who have a spouse or partner for company, cannot begin to empathise with the elderly who have lost a partner, often neglected by other family members if any, and therefore need the company of a pet for their mental health and even their survival!

I would therefore call upon the SPCA not to be so hasty in responding to petty complaints which could well be from a personal vendetta, but to consider the circumstances first, interview other neighbours, and suggest helpful options before destroying the lives of both human and animal in this heartless fashion!
