The barrel of a gun sees to it that thousands of people are murdered in your country every year. The barrel of a gun has taken Martin Luther King, John F. Kennedy, John Lennon, Lucky Dube and the millions of poor souls the world across who just wanted a better life, including our brethren in Rwanda and now Burundi.

The barrel of a gun has not liberated a single being, only enslaved entire populations and their tyrants who have lived by the slogan. There is no victory through the barrel of a gun; there is no dignity through the barrel of a gun and freedom lies not through the barrel of a gun. Only despair, poverty, humiliation and death.

This country will die if taken through the barrel of a gun and the light of basic freedom we celebrate and fought for will be extinguished forever through the barrel of a gun.
