White people say, black people are...

Sbu posted on facebook "White people will tell you straight to your face that apartheid was merely "separate development". Believe me."

No, Some white people may, but there are many, if not the majority that will disagree. Apartheid was evil, colonialism happened in a different time. It brought good and it brought bad. I am pretty sure if my ancestors knew what would happen they would have stayed home. I sometimes wish they had.

I am tired of the narrative, White People, Black people, The Indians, The Chinese... There is good and bad in everything, in every individual, in every school yard, in every town, province and country. Stop thinking in divisive terms,

You are first and foremost a person! If you were born in Africa with a white skin to Christian parents, you had no control over it. Being proud of being white, being Christian, being South African is folly, These are not achievements, they are an accident of birth. Defining yourself by an accident of birth is fucktarded.

I come from a huge number of ancestors including an Indian slave maiden, I am not proud of my ancestry, I am very interested in the history and where they all came from, I find their travels and travails hugely interesting but I do not define myself by the fact that one of my great great great grandparents crossed the Drakensberg by foot, and another owned Groot Constantia and yet another was the slave of Jan van Riebeeck, This is the past, Nothing I can do will change what went before me.

I can only change the future, when I was a young man I raced motorbikes and one of the lessons I learned was that focusing on the barriers will lead you into the barriers, If you are going into a corner you focus on the exit, not the hazards on the sides of the road, and you definitely don't focus on the rider behind you, that is a surefire way to go off the track and crash.

I will never judge a group by the actions of one, unless he is their leader and they are devoted followers, sometimes there is one in the flock that tries to derail the momentum, If the leader shuts them down, we can assume the leader disagrees, If he doesn't we assume he does not.

In the recent past a few things have happened, some give me hope, like ANC members publicly disagreeing with the leadership, Others cause me to despair like the "bury them alive" MP that has not been taken to task. It seems the leadership agrees with him.

One of the things I learnt in my youth was the then SA Motto. Ex Unitate Vires, from unity comes strength. The Nats ignored this bit of wisdom and it cost them dearly, The ANC is hell bent on destroying any unity, in order for them to retain power. We need to stop thinking in terms of Black parties and White Parties. Political parties cannot have a colour, They can only have members and as far as I know there are only two parties that have only white members and even that I am not convinced of, because there are always people that will vote against their own best interests.

When I was a child I would do something spiteful, against my own interests to harm my brothers and vice versa. My mother referred to it as cutting off your own nose to spite your face. Too many are busy hacking off their own noses with a blunt hacksaw blade.

I am tired of being the accused, of being considered the same and lumped into a group that I am not part of, I am not the DA, I am not Afriforum and most assuredly not Solidariteit, AWB or any of the other loonies pretending to talk for me. I am me and herewith an offer of friendship, You are welcome to accept or reject it, If you want a war, I am unwilling but not unable.
