New Germany - Eleven children were injured when the taxi they were travelling in veered off the road and hit a tree in New Germany, KwaZulu-Natal, on Friday, paramedics said.
Emergency workers arrived on the scene and found the children, aged between 4 and 10, sitting around the vehicle, said ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring.
"Two of the children were found to be handicapped," said Meiring.
The children had all sustained minor injuries. They were treated on scene and then transported to hospital for further medical care.
"Fortunately no one had sustained any serious injuries in this incident and no other vehicles were involved," said Meiring.
It was unclear what had led to the crash.
