Cape Town - A Cape Flats teenager has been shot dead on the night she planned to celebrate her 18th birthday.
The
Daily Voice reported that Ondela Mvula was last seen by relatives as she left to shop for her birthday party. It is believed she went to surprise her boyfriend, Mabhuti Mlinganiso at his home in Samora Machel.
But when she got to his house, she found Phumla Lumkwana, 17, there. It is alleged she was also dating Mlinganiso, 24.
Lumkwana then called Mlinganiso, who came to the house armed with a gun. During the ensuring argument, Mvula was shot in the face at point-blank range.
When police later came to question Mlinganiso, he started shooting at the officers and was shot dead.
A shot and wounded Lumkwana was found at the house and taken to hospital.
