Johannesburg - Three men suspected of being behind a series of robberies in Mondeor, south of Johannesburg, were arrested in Protea, Soweto, on Wednesday, metro police said on Wednesday.
The three were suspected of robbing people who were picking up their children at a crèche along Columbine Avenue, said spokesperson Wayne Minnaar.
"The complaint came to the JMPD [Johannesburg Metro Police Department] from the crèche," said Minnaar, adding that parents were complaining of items being stolen from their vehicles.
The suspects' vehicle, a red Polo with registration number DC 31 KC GP, which was often seen around the crèche, was traced.
A jamming device was found inside the vehicle, said Minnaar.
He called on members of the public around the Mondeor area who had been victims of such crimes to report to the local police station and open cases as soon as possible.
"If the suspects cannot be linked to the crimes, they will be set free," said Minnaar.
