Johannesburg - Three people were killed when the car they were travelling in overturned on the N2 near Grahamstown on Friday evening, Eastern Cape police said.
It was believed a burst tyre caused the car, carrying eight people, to overturn around 19:00, Captain Mali Govender said in a statement.
They were travelling from Peddie to Port Elizabeth. No other cars were involved. The three victims were believed to be in their 30s. The other five sustained serious injuries.
