Johannesburg - Three people, including a 5-month-old girl, died when a bakkie overturned in Ficksburg, Free State paramedics said.
ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring said three people were also injured in the accident on Saturday night.
"Paramedics arrived on scene to find a bakkie lying on its side on a gravel road. Occupants from the bakkie were lying all around the scene," he said.
"On assessment, paramedics found that six people had been travelling in the bakkie when it left the road and rolled multiple times."
The bodies of a man in his 40s and the infant were found lying 20 metres away.
"Four other patients were found lying some distance away, two of them critically injured," Meiring said.
"Unfortunately, on route to hospital, one of the critically injured patients succumbed to his injuries and was declared dead."
The cause was the accident was being investigated.
