Pietermaritzburg - Six people, including four children, were killed when two cars crashed between Dundee and Pomeroy in northern KwaZulu-Natal on Sunday, the provincial emergency medical services said.
Eight other people were injured, three of them critically, said spokesperson Robert McKenzie.
"The remaining five patients had sustained lesser injuries but were still in a serious condition, requiring urgent emergency medical care," he said.
The injured people were treated on the scene before being transported to hospital.
