Johannesburg - Eight people have died in various accidents around KwaZulu-Natal over the weekend, the provincial emergency medical services unit said on Saturday.
"Overnight paramedics from KZN Emergency Medical Services have attended to multiple collisions across the province," said spokesperson Robert Mckenzie.
"Sadly, several of these collisions resulted in fatalities."
In the first accident, four people were killed and eight injured when a minibus and car collided on a highway in the Umkhanyakude district near Shikishela on Friday night.
"There were multiple other collisions around the province and collisions that resulted in another four fatalities, occurred in Phoenix, Pietermaritzburg.
McKenzie said that cause of the collisions was being investigated.
