Durban – The KwaZulu-Natal Emergency Medical Services Wentworth base has welcomed a new four-legged member to their team, a Labrador cross named Blackie.

About a year ago members of the KZN EMS team became aware of something lurking in the long grass behind the base, but where never sure what it was.

Robert Mckenzie, spokesperson for KZN EMS, said paramedics started seeing a black dog running out the gate during the evening and after a while spotted the canine during the day.
