Beerhouse doorman's murder: Bail application rolled over

Cape Town - The bail application by three men who allegedly killed a doorman outside a popular bar in Long Street, Cape Town, could again not go ahead on Tuesday.

Court 16 at the Cape Town Magistrate's Court had a full roll and an unrelated bail application had to be finalised first.

Ubaid van der Bergh, Toufiq Essa and Nasbie Edwards will have to wait until Wednesday to argue why they should be released on bail.

At their last appearance two weeks ago, their application could not go ahead for the same reason.

Beerhouse on Long doorman Joe Louis Kazadi Kanyona, 33, was attacked by three men while standing outside the bar on Saturday June 21.

Western Cape police spokesperson Constable Noloyiso Rwexana said officers had arrived to find Kanyona lying on the floor with a stab wound to his neck.

The accused were arrested after CCTV footage caught the incident on camera.
