Cape Town - The bail application of three men accused of killing Joe Louis Kazadi Kanyona, a doorman at Beerhouse on Long, was denied on Tuesday.
Ubaid van der Bergh, 20, Toufiq Essa, 21, and Nasbie Edwards, 27, appeared before magistrate Grant Engel in the Cape Town Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday.
Police are still on the hunt for a fourth suspect, known only as "Ashley".
The trio are accused of stabbing Kanyona on June 20.
During their bail application last month, investigator Warrant Officer Jeremy Steyn told the court a witness heard Edwards tell his co-accused that an argument had taken place and a bouncer needed to be stabbed and sorted out.
Essa made a statement to police after his arrest, claiming he had been told about a job in which he was required to “draw blood”.
He and Van der Bergh apparently needed to form a "wall" and a man named Ashley would stab the bouncer.
Kanyona was stabbed in the neck and died within seconds, Steyn said.
