Cape Town - Flights were back to normal on Thursday night after the Airports Company of South Africa (Acsa) were forced to close Bram Fischer International in Bloemfontein after a private plane made an emergency landing on the only runway.
Passengers at Cape Town and Johannesburg airports en route to Bloemfontein were delayed for several hours before the runway was opened.
A Beechcraft 65 light aircraft on a flight from Grand Central airport to the Karoo, diverted to Bloemfontein after it developed technical problems and apparently made a wheels up landing.
