Camps Bay hotel murder: Suspect moved to Pollsmoor hospital wing

Johannesburg - A 41-year-old man arrested in connection with the murder of a woman at a Camps Bay hotel earlier this week has reportedly been moved to the hospital section of the Pollsmoor Maximum Security Prison, EyeWitness News reported on Saturday.

This was apparently at the request of his lawyer, EWN said.

The Guatemalan man, who is understood to be the woman's boyfriend, appeared in the Cape Town Magistrate's Court on a murder charge on Friday.

He was remanded in custody until his second appearance next week.

On Thursday, a family member said they believed Gabriella Kabrins Alba may have been strangled.

Alba is an American citizen.

The body of the 39-year-old victim was found in a hotel room at the Camps Bay Retreat in Chilworth Road on Wednesday afternoon.
