Cape Town guard killed while chasing robbers

Johannesburg - A security guard was shot dead while chasing armed robbers in Mitchell's Plain, Cape Town, Western Cape police said on Tuesday.

He was shot while chasing two men who had allegedly robbed a jewellery store at Polka Square, Town Centre, on Monday, Captain Frederick van Wyk said.

The two fled in a Toyota Corolla with an undisclosed amount of cash and jewellery. A case of murder and business robbery was opened.
