Cape Town - Three people died when the car they were travelling in hit a traffic safety pole and split in half near the Macassar off-ramp in Cape Town, paramedics said on Monday.
"The collision occurred around midnight and involved only one vehicle. The road was wet and the vehicle allegedly lost control at a slight bend and collided with a traffic safety pole," ER24 spokesperson Pieter Rossouw said.
"The vehicle split in half, killing all three passengers."
ER24 paramedics attended the scene, but there was nothing that could be done.
Local authorities were on the scene investigating.
