Johannesburg - Classes are due to resume at the Vaal University of Technology, the institution said on Monday.
"The Vaal University of Technology has today announced that it will reopen its campus on Wednesday," VUT said in a statement.
The varsity said the residences would however, only be accessible once re-opening procedures had been completed.
The university suspended its classes last week after the students went on the rampage, complaining about the lack of funds in the National Student Financial Aid Scheme.
They demanded a meeting with the Minister of Higher Education, Blade Nzimande.
"Thus far, management has contributed 50% of the NSFAS shortfall for food allocation and other options are being considered to find long term and sustainable solutions to the funding crisis," the university said in a statement.
Management would continue to engage the student leadership on the issues that led to the protest action.
