Johannesburg - A man claiming to be a police officer was arrested in Johannesburg on Sunday, metro police said.
The man was stopped by metro police who enquired why his Jaguar had blue lights which are strictly reserved for police use, said Chief Superintendent Wayne Minnaar.
"He produced a police appointment card," said Minnaar.
Officers checked the authenticity of the card at the Johannesburg Central police station where they found it to be illegal.
The man was arrested and was expected to appear at the Johannesburg Magistrate's Court on Tuesday.
