Polokwane - Limpopo police have applauded the four life sentences meted out at a rapist who targeted students at the University of Limpopo.
Matome Lucas Phoshoko, 28, was arrested in June 2012 following a string of rapes.
Students who lived near the university were often his victims.
The incidences occurred in 2012.
Constable Moses Molepo said the harsh sentence, which included an additional 32 years, would act as a deterrent.
The 32 years will run concurrently.
Molepo said Phoshoko had also been linked to a house robbery through DNA tests.
He said Phoshoko had previously escaped from police cells in 2013 but had been rearrested.
