Johannesburg - The pathologist who examined Dolly Tshabalala, alleged to have been fatally stabbed by her boyfriend Donald Sebolai, said on Wednesday he had not seen any signs of a struggle on her body.
But Dr Paul Morule also admitted to the High Court, sitting in Palm Ridge that he did not do any nail scrapings on Tshabalala, as there was nothing there "that caught his attention".
Tshabalala had no other injuries on her except the stab wound on her thigh which caused her death, he said.
Thabang Mathopo, for Sebolai, questioned Morule on whether he could tell if the wound suffered by Tshabalala could have been caused purposefully.
"I cannot say," Morule replied.
Homicide, suicide or even an accident could have produced such a wound, the pathologist said.
The doctor is back on the stand for a second time after he was recalled by the State, which reopened its case on Monday.
State prosecutor Elize le Roux said when Morule was initially called to the stand, they were unaware that Sebolai would present the version he did to the court.
Sebolai claimed that Tshabalala was injured when they struggled over a knife which she had used to stab him on the hand. The fight he alleges took place after she accused him of cheating.
Tshabalala died from a punctured artery. Her body was found on Sebolai's bed at his flat in Soweto. He disappeared after her death. The former Jozi FM DJ was arrested nine days later.
He has pleaded not guilty to the murder charge against him.
