Dewani sues to get phone records

Cape Town - British murder-accused Shrien Dewani is suing the lawyer of one his wife Anni's murderers for his phone records, Die Burger newspaper reported on Monday.

Dewani is suing William da Grass, the lawyer for taxi driver Zola Tongo, who was jailed for 18 years for the murder of Anni Dewani while she was honeymooning in Cape Town.

Tongo testified during his trial in 2010 that Shrien Dewani masterminded her killing during a hijacking in Gugulethu.

Shrien Dewani wants Da Grass to hand over phone records between 14 November 2010 and 30 November 2010.

These include all cellphone numbers registered in Da Grass's name and all landline numbers registered on his name or the name of his law firm ENS.

Beeld and Die Burger are in possession of a copy of the summons.

Da Grass declined to comment to the Afrikaans dailies.

He has until 15 August to hand over the phone records in the Western Cape High Court.

Why? Is he trying to find a loophole, a way to get out of this? Sigh... if you do the crime, do the time. Take it like a man, Dewani.

Isnt this guy crazy or something or he only puts on the crazy show when he goes to court? Can we please sentence him to life already.

How will the lawyers phone records be of ANY help to Dewani? Not sure it makes sense???????? And this will break the 'client confidentiality' the lawyer and firm has with their clients, surely?

Innocent until proven guilty? Ever heard of this? Just because a murderer says you paid him to do it does not automatically mean you did! Criminals will say anything to get a lesser sentence. I still think he is guilty but let the law run it's course.

Since we know he's not well on his head, can we take this as a result of him being sick?

Who needs television series when we have reality shows like these? Enjoyable and can we please watch this one on TV also.
