Johannesburg - African Union Commission Chair Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma would receive an international prize on Sunday, her office said.
"The chairperson of the African Union Commission, Dr Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma will later today, Sunday 9 December 2012 be honoured with the Renaissance Woman of the Year Award 2012," Dlamini-Zuma's advisor Febe Potgieter said.
The Palazzo Strozzi Foundation benefits the city of Florence, Italy.
It gives an annual award to a Renaissance Man or Woman of the Year.
Ted Turner, founder of CNN, received the award in 2011, and was its first recipient.
